Raseri, Inc. and Alton Brown

Here at Raseri, Inc we love to reward people for their hard work and effort in the office. Recently, Rick took one of the top guys, Frank Saucedo, down to Columbus to see Alton Brown live with the other managers. Frank was nominated by his peers for stepping up and being a leader in the office.

*Alton Brown took a picture from the stage during the show. You can see our guys having a blast in the balcony.

The night started with dinner at the Elevator Brewery & Draught Haus in downtown Columbus. The Elevator is famous for it's Rock Filet which is served on a hot stone and cooked in front of you! Frank got to network with the other managers while also meeting some of the top guys from Columbus. After dinner they headed down to the Palace Theatre where Alton Brown performed a live show that was part stand-up, musical acts, and crazy cooking experiments. Frank said, "Out of all the jokes and music what I will remember the most is the smell in the auditorium when he cooked a 'double cruster pizza' in under 4 minutes using stage lights." Alton Brown also made chocolate ice cream in 10 seconds and invited guests onstage to help in his experiments.

When asked about the opportunity to go on the trip Frank said, "I'm really grateful for being voted to go. It was a great chance to get to know the other managers better and learn from them. It was definitely a lot of fun and I love all the cool things working for Raseri allows me to do".

We can't wait to see the big things that Frank is going to do here and are excited to take another trip to Columbus very soon.

What advice would you give to others who are looking to hit leadership qualifications at Raseri Inc?
Everything takes time. Set goals of what you want to accomplish but don't set a time on the goals. Time is not important, it is what you learn on the way that is going to set you up for success. Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.

Personal Fun Fact...

Raseri Inc Employee Spotlight: Nikki Harris

Congratulations, Nikki!

What is your typical work day like?
Get up and get ready for work. Get my coffee. Get to the office early and set-up my day.

What do you like most about your job?
It’s merit-based. My level of success is 100% reliant upon the initiative and effort I put into it. Everyone is not only willing to help you be successful, but they actually want to see you succeed. My co-workers are always there when I need them.

What motivates you to do a good job?
I know I’m lucky to even have the opportunity, so I’m going to embrace it and perform at my highest ability.

Which accomplishment in the last year are you most proud of?
Getting my car paid-off. It feels really good to have accomplished that on my own.

What aspects of your job do you find the most challenging or frustrating?
Staying quiet in atmosphere. We all get so excited and have so much fun in the office that we tend to get a little carried away. We have to keep our level of excitement controlled because of the offices next to us. I’m just not a quiet person, so that takes some effort.

Is there anything that didn't go as you had hoped? Why?
Graduate school. I went in with different expectations. Although it didn't pan out the way I thought, it did open my life up for this opportunity.

Have you set any personal goals to help you grow as a professional?
Yes. My grandma has always been an incredible inspiration in my life. She is a phenomenal woman and has always taken care of me when she had no obligation to do so. I've always known I wanted to buy her a house with a pool, and someday I will.

What specific opportunities could you pursue this year to advance those goals?
I hope to attend the Leaders’ Conference in December, where I can meet with other people who are in a similar situation as me. I also want to go on more business trips to different offices, as well as lead a satellite trip.

What do you and your peers do to support each other?
We get to know each other. We build strong relationships with one another so that we have a firm foundation underneath us at all times.

What advice would you give to someone hoping to get promoted to leadership?
Don’t be average. Go above and beyond what you’re asked to do, at all times. Where you are is exactly where you’re supposed to be. Use your resources and ask for help if you want it. But most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!

CL- The most frustrating would be learning by making mistakes. Nobody likes to, but that’s what makes it so rewarding- to learn from it. You have to make it right for the next time.

R- Is there anything that didn’t go as you had hoped? Why?

CL- No, not really. Progressing at my own pace got me where I am.

R- Have you set any personal goals to help you grow as a professional?

CL- Absolutely. I set three and six week goals.

R- What specific opportunities could you pursue this year to advance those goals?

CL- Consistently show results while training. Meet with all the top guys and have one-on-ones outside the office.

R- What do you and your peers do to support each other?

CL- We hang out a lot outside the office. It keeps me coming back. We have fun with each other in and out of the office. We have positive attitudes. When we hit our goals, we help others hit theirs.

R- What advice would you give to someone hoping to get promoted to leadership?

CL- I would tell them to hang-out as much as possible, pick the top guys’ brains, go to top management meetings, keep constant contact with leaders, and stay in contact with the right people.
